This fall some schools in central Illinois have had to implement their crisis management plan for the safety of students and personnel. We have a comprehensive plan that is constantly under review. Secondly, we have implemented a number of security measures throughout our buildings and practiced the drills and procedures as outlined in the crisis management plan.
It has come to my attention that one of our students was approached by a stranger off school property. The student did the right thing by ignoring the person and walking away from the stranger. The person left the area and the student was unharmed. Please review the proper procedures with your child when they are approached by a stranger.
It takes everyone working together to keep our schools and community a safe place for our children.
